NOx level predictions in gas turbine flue gas using Metacomp

NOx levels in gas turbine exhaust are dependant on many operating variables as well as ambient air temperature and humidity. Most of these variables have a relatively short term effect on NOx with time lags of about an hour. A NOx predictor/controller based on Metacomp was developed using an extensive database of plant operating parameters, flue gas composition and meteorological data. Accuracies of 9% in prediction of NOx levels 1 hour into the future have been obtained.
